Amanda has worked with elementary age children abroad, teaching English in Prague. She has a B.S. in Psychology and a Minor in Forensic Science from Loyola University in New Orleans. She also holds a TEFL & Young Learners Certificate. Amanda has also worked at Happy Hall with toddlers on and off throughout the years.  She believes learning should be fun and that children will learn more when they enjoy the learning process. On her own time, she enjoys old movies, especially musicals! Traveling is her favorite thing and she just got back from seeing Europe and Asia.


Amanda has been in the Early Childhood and School-Age field for 8 years as an afterschool and preschool teacher in the city of South San Francisco. Amanda earned her Associates in Early Childhood Education from Skyline College and graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Child Adolescent Development from San Francisco State University in 2016. Amanda has a passion for teaching children 2 years to 12 years old. She believes that children learn the best through play. In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, puzzles, movies, and spending time with family, including her dogs.


Anne has worked at Happy Hall for almost 12 years. Before Happy Hall, she worked in afterschool programs before realizing she liked working with younger children best. At Happy Hall, she started in Orange Class and has worked in Yellow, Green and now in Blue!  She received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Chabot College. Anne holds her Site Supervisor Permit and is a Mentor Teacher for San Mateo County. Anne provides a safe, loving and healthy environment that fosters learning and development in cognitive, social, emotional and physical areas. Anne lives in San Bruno with her husband and three children She enjoys her pets and taking her kids to their sporting activities.

Master Teacher

Anne has over 30 years of experience in the accounting field and has worked most of her career in corporate companies. This is her first experience in the education sector and she loves it. Anne is always willing to support the staff in any capacity and looks forward to participating in school events. Anne has a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Anne wakes up every morning with a grateful heart, and it shows in all of her actions. In her spare time, Anne loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. She is also active in Kali (Filipino martial arts).

Director of Accounting

A-Ryum has worked with children for 4 years as a lead teacher in a Korean immersion preschool in San Francisco.  She graduated with an Associates Degree in Child Development in 2014 while volunteering in different preschools. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the children smile and she loves hearing the things they say while learning.  In her free time she enjoys cooking, traveling and playing sports with her husband.


Charina has been at Happy Hall for 16 years working at our afterschool program at Rollingwood Elementary working with K-5th grade.  We are pleased she has joined the preschool team this year. Charina graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Communications and she has Early Childhood Education units at Skyline College.  Charina believes in being firm, fair and fun when working with kids. Learning should be fun and not too serious. She enjoys reading, buying new gadgets, traveling and hanging out with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoys planning fun and creative activities for children to enjoy.


Christine graduated from Santa Clara University in 2016 with her B.A. in Liberal Studies with a specialty in Early Childhood Education.  While in college she worked at the onsite preschool as an assistant teacher. She has also worked as a lead teacher at an afterschool program and most recently as an individual aide in a classroom for a child in first, through third grade.  She worked at Happy Hall a few years ago and is excited to be back. Her teaching philosophy is that children learn best through play and their own experiences and since all children learn differently their needs to be a variety of activities to engage all children

Lead Teacher

Crystal has been working with children for 7 years. She is currently achieving her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education at Skyline College.  She is fluent in both English and Spanish. In her free time she enjoys traveling, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.


Frank has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 35 years. He has been everything from an assistant teacher to a director and joined Happy Hall as the assistant director in May of 2019. He has an A.A. degree from San Jose City College and has taken additional E.C.E. courses throughout the years. He believes the classroom is the child’s space a teacher’s job is to guide them in their explorations.  He enjoys gardening and his four dogs. He lives on Treasure Island and enjoys spending time with his three grown children.

Assistant Director

Isabel has worked at Happy Hall since 1995.  Prior to that she had worked as a director at a senior center.  During her time with us she has worn many hats: assistant teacher, lead teacher, interim director, cook, plumber, the list goes on and on. Isabel took her ECE classes at Skyline College. Isabel believes that children should be heard and nurtured in order to even begin to learn. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 3 children and  8 grandchildren. She also enjoys gardening and playing in the dirt.  


January has attended Skyline and College and received her certificate in Surgical Technology. While she was waiting for her final exam in this field, she worked as a teacher’s aide at a child care staffing agency.  She often came to Happy Hall during this time. She worked with toddlers at a Kindercare in Palo Alto and while there completed her education for a certificate in Early Childhood Education.  She has chosen to work with children because their behavior is interesting and she loves the daily challenges. In her free time she enjoys bonding with her family and taking walks.


Jennifer has been at Happy Hall for almost a year now.  She has worked at an e-commerce office for 8 years, supporting clients with planning parties and selling party supplies.  Her experience with customer service for over 12 years has really helped her become a huge asset to Happy Hall. She is also a certified tax preparer and has studied business administration at San Francisco State University.  In her free time Jen likes to spend time with her husband and one year old daughter. She enjoys the beach and finding good restaurants and dessert places.

Office Coordinator

Jocelyn has been teaching for 3 years. She is studying Child Development and Nutrition at City College of San Francisco. Jocelyn knows that children learn best when they are having fun and enjoying the adventure of discovery.  She is very silly and nurturing with the children. In her personal life, Jocelyn is a vegan who enjoys painting, dogs and yoga. 


Kathy has worked in the education field for nearly 15 years. She has been at Happy Hall for almost two years and has been the Yellow Class Lead Teacher.  She obtained her Early Childhood Education units from City College of San Francisco. She feels her role as a teacher is to assist each child in developing their own potential and discover their learning styles.  She enjoys incorporating hands on learning, cooperative learning, projects, themes and individual work that engages and activates student learning. Kathy is from Hawaii and in her free time enjoys hiking, pilates, running, walking and exploring the beach. She enjoys time with family and is looking forward to her son’s wedding in April. 


Laura has been in the Early Childhood Education field for 20 years. She received her A.S. from Skyline College in Early Childhood Education. She has a permit from the state of California as a Master Teacher, and has been both a Teacher and Director. She is currently finishing her B.A. in Child and Adolescence Development from San Francisco State University. Being a teacher for her is not just a job, it is a passion. Watching a child’s eyes light up when they finally realize they have understood and can accomplish a task that had previously been daunting to them is the best part of her day. In her free time she enjoys traveling around the world, scuba diving, kayaking, and driving around our beautiful country. 

Master Teacher

Maddie has recently joined the Happy Hall team. While working as  a substitute teacher experienced many schools and learned what type of school fit her best. We are glad she chose Happy Hall!  She is currently studying Communications and Early Childhood Education at Skyline College. Maddie believes that each child and their family is  unique and need an education that is tailored to fit their individuality. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, working on cars and has a strong passion for training and working with animals.


Monica has worked at Happy Hall for the past 9 years. She was introduced to our school through her mother in law who worked here for 20+ years! She graduated from Skyline with an A.A. in Child Development.  Her two children graduated from Happy Hall and are now in 2nd and 4th grade. Monica loves working with 2-3-year-olds because she is an expert potty trainer and really believes in teaching self-help skills and helping children build relationships. Monica also enjoys teaching numbers, the ZooPhonics letters, shapes, and colors through fun active games and music. At home, Monica enjoys baseball, music and playing board games.

Lead Teacher

Natalie has a B.A. in Speech and Language Pathology from San Jose State and an A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Skyline College.  She has worked as an after school teacher at Mimi Learning in Millbrae where she also taught Mandarin and Cantonese. She has also done private tutoring in Chinese.  Her philosophy is play-based learning so that children have the best preparation for social and emotional skills, motor skills and speech and language development. In her free time Natalie likes to read and play piano.  She also loves to be with her husband and one year old son Jayden.


OIivia has worked at Happy Hall for the last 27 years.  She has worked in all our classrooms and with all age groups over the years.  She completed her Child Development units at San Francisco City College and Skyline College.  Olivia’s favorite part of being a teacher is to help children with social and emotional transitions so they can feel safe and loved.  It is important to her that they build relationships and have fun learning experiences. She is originally from Mexico and has lived in South San Francisco for the last 43 years with her husband and 3 grown sons.  She likes to travel, especially to Mexico or Chicago to visit her family. She also likes cooking and gardening with children and at home.


Rosa has been at Happy Hall for 18 years.  She earned her Early Childhood Education units from San Francisco City College.  Rosa enjoys teaching the children Spanish through songs and fun circle time activities.  Rosa lovingly encourages children as they grow in their social, emotional physical and cognitive development  On the weekends Rosa enjoys volunteering and getting involved with her church. 


Samantha is studying Child Development at San Francisco State. She has worked with children in many different capacities including babysitting, teaching at her church and working at an afterschool program. Samantha understands that every child has different needs and learns at their own pace. She is always patient and helpful with every child. Samantha loves animals, travel and speaking Spanish.


Shelley has been working in Early Childhood Education for over 20 years and has been a director for the last 15.  She joined Happy Hall 5 years ago and is really enjoying being part of a neighborhood school that has such a strong community.  She received her B.A. and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Santa Clara University. She has also taken some Early Childhood Education classes from different community colleges in the bay area.  In her free time Shelley enjoys taking day trips with her husband and two children as well as watching movies, camping and playing with her dogs.


Xuan was born in China and moved to the U.S. in 2010..  She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and is currently studying Early Childhood Education at Skyline College.  Before working at Happy Hall, Xuan worked at a family child care with children from 18 months to five years old. She truly loves working with children of all ages, watching them learn and discover the world through hands on exploration, play, storytelling, and music.  In her free time she loves spending time with her family, watching movies and TV shows, cooking. She especially loves playing and reading with her daughter.


Yin was born in Yangon City, Burma and immigrated to California with her family in 2008. She has been working with children ages 1-5 years old since 2013. She received her A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Skyline College and is currently studying Liberal Studies and Chinese at San Francisco State. In the classroom Yin is passionate about watching each child grow and ensuring they receive the best care and the kindness they deserve. Outside of work, Yin enjoys gardening and online shopping.
